For the past twenty years our company has been manufacturing several types of room dividers. Two of these room dividers were designed to fill what we perceived to be a definite need in the marketplace. That need was for an economically priced room divider retrofit for remodeling projects. There is a wide variety of movable partitions on the market that are designed to be suspended from the ceiling. These partitions require strong beams or headers to be installed in the ceiling to support their massive weight. Even though these beams and headers are expensive, they are fairly easy to incorporate into a new building's construction.

It becomes an entirely different matter however, when trying to install ceiling supported partitions in an existing building where beams or headers have not been included. Trying to add these supports after construction can become very difficult, messy and sometimes impossible to accomplish. In addition to that, the support braces all to often jeopardize the safety designed load limits of floors or ceilings. When you tally up the high cost of trying to retrofit some kind of support system into an existing building and then add that to the cost of the partitions themselves, it becomes very expensive and beyond the reach of many budgets.

We solved this problem by designing room divider systems that are floor supported and easily installed. First of all we completely eliminated the need for those expensive ceiling beams or headers. This was accomplished by inventing floor track sections that completely supported the dividers, but did not have to be fastened to the floor. These floor track sections are quickly and easily picked up and stored vertically in a compartment behind the stacked panels. This allows the floor to be obstacle free when the divider is not in use. When using the divider, the floor track sections are again quickly and easily returned to their floor position.

The second area where we are able to save a big expense is in the installation. To my knowledge all ceiling suspended movable partitions must be installed by highly paid professional installers. Most of the time you not only pay a high installation cost, but also pay to reimburse the installers for their meals, travel and motel expenses.

Our room dividers are so easy to install that most of our systems can be installed within one day by two men with basic carpenter skills. This means that installations can be accomplished by using in house staff or a local contractor. In addition to cost savings, we are also able to offer many features that are not available from other manufacturers. Acoustical fabric faced panels in a variety of colors that help “soak up” room noises are available as a standard. These fabric faces are Velcro compatible and tackable.

Options include built in porcelain enamel marker boards, see through glass inserts, standard swinging doors, washable faces in vinyl or steel for cafeteria and other clean room applications and much more.
